The Goddess Tribe – Best Self-help Book
The Goddess Tribe is my pick for best self-help because it is the book that helped me the most. In writing this book, I found insight and healing that I did not know was possible. The Goddess Tribe is a spiritual and inspirational fiction novel about Diana, a 40-year-old divorced mother, who is embarking on a new life after her very sad and traumatic divorce. Follow Diana on her (s)hero’s journey as she learns to express gratitude, live in the present, and accept gifts from spirit with wonder and joy. Diana meets an eclectic group of ladies who call themselves The Goddess Tribe. With their help, Diana is able to rebuild her sad life into a new and exciting journey that brings self-discover, romance, new friendships, and a life she had never imagined. The Medicine Bag by don Jose Ruiz Self-help Book
I love this book so much and it is also a great self-help book. The Medicine Bag teaches you how to think like a shaman with beautiful advice from the Ruiz family over the generations. Don Jose Ruiz beautifully explains how to build your own medicine bag with sacred items. He explains meaningful ritual, the importance of gratitude, and forgiveness of self and others.
Wild Mercy by Mirabai Starr Self-help book
Wild Mercy is a collection of essays about amazing women throughout our history and folklore. In the introduction, she spins a tale of a secret fiesta involving women mystics from all over. She transports the reader into this mythical realm where women from Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and indigenous spiritual practices gather together for a party in a wild wooded forest. Just the introduction had me captivated. This beautifully written book is full of empowering stories for and about women. I have been deeply inspired by this book and by other writings from Mirabai Starr. If you are a deep thinker and looking for more woman-centered empowerment and self-help books, check this one out.
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert Self-help book
First of all, I love all self-help books written by Elizabeth Gilbert. Even though Eat, Pray, Love was such a well-written and fun read, it still was very inspiring to me and falls into the category of self-help books. In Big Magic, Elizabeth writes about her creative process. She beautifully and insightfully examines the creative process of others, including her parents, in a loving and entertaining way. If you have struggled with writer’s block, a blank canvas, or the creative process of life in general, Big Magic is a great self-help book for you.
