Best Gluten Free / Vegan Bean Burger – Make sure any purchased spices are gluten free
First Make your sausage by combining the ingredients below in a food processor and pulsing until it looks like raw sausage crumbles.
Vegan Sausage – this is my recipe:
½ cup soaked walnuts (soak in water for 2 hours) then drain
½ cup Mushrooms
¼ cup Gluten Free Tamari
1 tbl nutritional yeast flakes
1 clove garlic
1 tbl minced onion (food process)
GF Italian spices
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
Remove sausage mixture from food processor. Set aside sausage mixture in a bowl.
Now Make the bean mixture.
Combine in food processor:
1 cup salted cooked black beans – well drained
1 cup cassava flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 full round slice of a beet
¼ cup onion
1 Clove garlic
Combine bean mixture with sausage mixture in a large metal mixing bowl. I use a hamburger patty mold to get my patties perfect. Heat skillet to medium heat. Coat with olive oil. Fry your patties on the outside to get them crispy. Then transfer to the oven to get the inside completely cooked –15 minutes at 350 degrees.
